Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Where is Bounded Rationality From?

open access: yesAnnals of Business Administrative Science, 2015
“Bounded rationality” has become such a key concept that the mere mention of the name “Simon” calls this phrase to mind. Nonetheless, this phrase does not appear in the original text of Administrative Behavior (Simon, 1947, 1957, 1976, 1997). In spite of

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Sign changing solutions of the Hardy–Sobolev–Maz'ya equation

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis, 2014
In this article we will study the existence, multiplicity and Morse index of sign changing solutions for the Hardy–Sobolev–Maz'ya (HSM) equation in bounded domain and involving critical growth.

Bounds for the Hosoya Index

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung A, 1987
Some inequalities for Hosoya's topological index are deduced, revealing its dependence on the structure of the carbon-atom sekeleton of a hydrocarbon molecule.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

The boundary Riemann problem of the power-logarithmic order of infinity index for the half-plane

open access: yesLietuvos Matematikos Rinkinys, 2005
The boundary Riemann problem of the power-logarithmic order of infinity index for the half-plane in the class ℬ of bounded analytic functions and in the class ℬ0(ρ, n) ⊂ ℬ, is investigated.
