Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Subspace Codes Based on Partial Injective Maps of Vector Spaces Over Finite Fields
Subspace codes are widely used in error corrections of random network coding. In this article, subspace codes based on partial injective maps of vector spaces over finite fields are considered. Several bounds of the subspace codes (n, M, 2b, e)q based on

Definability with bounded number of bound variables
A model-theoretic method for establishing the k-variable property is given in the paper. To study the k-variable property is important from the temporal logic point of view. A first-order theory satisfies the k- variable property if every formula is, under the theory, equivalent to a formula with at most k bound variables.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Dimension-adaptive bounds on compressive FLD Classification
Efficient dimensionality reduction by random projections (RP) gains popularity, hence the learning guarantees achievable in RP spaces are of great interest.

Theory of bounded groups and their bounded cohomology [PDF]
Bounded cohomology H can be defined for groups and for topological spaces. Recent work has shown that \(H^ *_ b(M)\) of a topological space M depends only on \(\pi _ 1(M)\). In this paper we consider a new concept - a bounded group - and thereby expand the definition of bounded cohomology.

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Some New Bounds for Mathieu's Series [PDF]
In the paper, an upper bound and two lower bounds for Mathieu’s series are established, which refine to a certain extent a sharp double inequality obtained by Alzer-Brenner-Ruehr in 1998.
