Prevalence of bovine tuberculosis in the Aksu Region of Xinjiang, China, between 1985 and 2016

open access: yesArquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia
Prevalence of bovine tuberculosis infection in cattle in Aksu Prefecture determined by intradermal tuberculin skin test (TST), between 1985 and 2016. Cattle were analyzed according to region, feeding pattern, herds and age. A total of 890,009 cattle were

Biotechnological Potential of a Novel Strain of Fusarium proliferatum, a Terrestrial Fungus Adapted to Marine Environment

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 17, Issue 4, August 2025.
A novel strain of Fusarium proliferatum was isolated from South Calabrian coasts (Italy) and molecularly characterised. Its rice cultures led to the identification of secondary metabolites with antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Listeria monocytogenes, and with antioxidant properties.

Repurposing of FDA‐Approved Drugs to Disrupt Iron Uptake in Mycobacterium abscessus: Targeting Salicylate Synthase as a Novel Approach

open access: yesChemical Biology &Drug Design, Volume 106, Issue 2, August 2025.
A drug repurposing strategy was applied against M. abscessus, through a virtual screening of FDA approved drugs on salicylate synthase. Eleven potential ligands were found; among these, three were confirmed as potent inhibitors of the enzyme. ABSTRACT Non‐tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) are opportunistic pathogens that lead to severe, persistent ...

Transient Dietary Intervention Induces Healthy Adipose Tissue Expansion and Metabolically Healthy Obesity in Mice

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 14, 31 July 2025.
This study demonstrates that an appropriate dietary intervention can promote healthy adipose tissue expansion in mice, even after weight regain, leading to metabolically healthy obesity (MHO), whereas inappropriate protocols, such as those with short duration and late initiation, failed to do so.

High Sensitivity L‐Cysteine Indium Telluriselenide Quantum Dot‐Inspired Aptasensor for Interferon Gamma TB Biomarker

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 12, Issue 15, July 24, 2025.
An electrochemical interferon‐gamma (IFN‐γ) aptasensor is developed with L‐cysteine‐indium telluriselenide quantum dot (QD) and 24 mer guanine‐thymine DNA aptamer. The aptasensor exhibits high sensitivity in buffer and human serum samples. From calibration analysis, the limit of detection of the aptasensor is 0.312 pg mL−1 IFN‐γ, which indicates good ...
