Engineered Pericyte‐Targeted Extracellular Vesicles Protect Against Hypoperfusion‐Induced Cognitive Impairment and Vascular Demyelination

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2026.
Schematic illustration on a therapeutic strategy wherein engineered extracellular vesicles (EVs) are delivered intranasally and specifically target pericytes. In a model of chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (BCAS), this targeted approach preserves cerebral blood flow, reinforces blood‐brain barrier (BBB) integrity, stabilizes the neurovascular unit (NVU),

Evaluation of effectiveness of solvent-detergent viral in activation in the manufacture of intravenous human immunoglobulin G in a model of virus diarrhea — mucosal disease of cattle

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Medicine, 2013
In model experiments using in vitro virus diarrhea — mucosal disease in cattle (bovine VD-MDC) studied the effectiveness of solvent-detergent (SD) virus inactivation used in the production of intravenous human immunoglobulin G (IgG). Optimized conditions

A search for RNA insertions and NS3 gene duplication in the genome of cytopathic isolates of bovine viral diarrhea virus

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2006
Calves born persistently infected with non-cytopathic bovine viral diarrhea virus (ncpBVDV) frequently develop a fatal gastroenteric illness called mucosal disease.

A Modular Design of a Cholera Toxin B Subunit‐Scaffolded Sub‐Virion Nanoparticle Vaccine Against West Nile Virus

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 19, Issue 6, June 2026.
A recombinant West Nile virus (WNV) subunit vaccine was developed by displaying ED3 on a CTB scaffold. The fusion protein formed soluble nanoparticles in E. coli, eliciting strong, balanced, and specific neutralizing antibodies without cross‐reactivity, offering a safe, scalable subunit vaccine platform.

Demonstration of Vd-Virus by the Fluorescent Antibody Technique in Tissues of Cattle Affected with Bovine Viral Diarrhea (Mucosal Disease) [PDF]

open access: yesActa Veterinaria Scandinavica, 1970
An account is given of immunohistological studies performed on tissue specimens from 59 cattle affected with BVD-MD. The animals had either died or been killed in an advanced state of the disease. From 47 of these animals VD-virus was demonstrated in primary calf kidney cultures inoculated with suspensions of at least one of the following tissues ...

KLK7 overexpression promotes an aggressive phenotype and facilitates peritoneal dissemination in colorectal cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 16, Issue 5, Page 1000-1019, May 2026.
KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...

A novel case of autosomal recessive CARD11 loss‐of‐function underlying impaired antiviral immunity and a review of literature

open access: yesClinical &Translational Immunology, Volume 15, Issue 5, 2026.
We report on a patient homozygous for a novel autosomal recessive loss‐of‐function CARD11 variant, with susceptibility to live attenuated virus (LAV) vaccines and impaired clearance of multiple naturally acquired respiratory viral infections. Inborn errors of immunity affecting the CARD11‐BCL10‐MALT1 (CBM) complex should be considered in individuals ...
