Abstract Basking sharks, Cetorhinus maximus (Gunnerus, Brugden [Squalus maximus], Det Kongelige Norske Videnskabers Selskabs Skrifter, 1765, vol. 3, pp. 33–49), feed by gaping their mouths and gill slits, greatly reorienting their cranial skeletons to filter food from water.

Review of delta wing space shuttle vehicle dynamics [PDF]
The unsteady aerodynamics of the proposed delta planform, high cross range, shuttle orbiters, are investigated. It is found that these vehicles are subject to five unsteady-flow phenomena that could compromise the flight dynamics.

Abstract This article examines how UK and US universities manage racial equality regimes through governance structures that prioritise institutional reputation over substantive racial justice reform. Drawing on Bourdieu's field, habitus and capital theory, the study demonstrates how universities neutralise racial justice efforts through bureaucratic ...

Unsteady aerodynamic analysis of space shuttle vehicles. Part 1: Summary report [PDF]
An analysis of the unsteady aerodynamics of space shuttle vehicles was performed. The results show that slender wing theory can be modified to give the potential flow static and dynamic characteristics over a large Mach number range from M = 0 to M 1. A

ABSTRACT Oropharyngeal food processing exhibits a remarkable diversity among vertebrates, reflecting the evolution of specialised ‘processing centres’ associated with the mandibular, hyoid, and branchial arches. Although studies have detailed various food‐processing strategies and mechanisms across vertebrates, a coherent and comprehensive terminology ...

Computational analysis of hypersonic airbreathing aircraft flow fields [PDF]
The general problem of calculating the flow fields associated with hypersonic airbreathing aircraft is presented. Unique aspects of hypersonic aircraft aerodynamics are introduced and their demands on computational fluid dynamics are outlined.

ABSTRACT Manufacturing's transition to sustainable development depends on integrating green with lean under credible environmental policy and stakeholder engagement. Although benefits are well established, the literature underspecifies implementation barriers and their prioritisation. This study identifies, structures, and prioritises barriers to green–

Issues and approach to develop validated analysis tools for hypersonic flows: One perspective [PDF]
Critical issues concerning the modeling of low-density hypervelocity flows where thermochemical nonequilibrium effects are pronounced are discussed. Emphasis is on the development of validated analysis tools.

Climate Change Risks and Customer Concentration: Evidence From US‐Listed Firms
ABSTRACT While prior studies have investigated climate risks in supply chains, customer ESG pressures, and shared climate exposure, this paper is, to the best of our knowledge, the first to provide direct empirical evidence on the relationship between climate change risks and firms' customer concentration.

Radiation induced precursor flow field ahead of a Jovian entry body [PDF]
The change in flow properties ahead of the bow shock of a Jovian entry body, resulting from absorption of radiation from the shock layer, is investigated.
