Isolation of Degrees of Freedom for Box—Behnken Designs

Technometrics, 1994
The Box–Behnken three-level designs have proved useful for fitting second-order response surfaces to experimental data. Here, we discuss an aspect of their value in the detection of lack of model fit. The degrees of freedom in excess of those needed to fit the model can be used advantageously for contrasts which estimate certain higher-order departures

Reinvestigating nanoprecipitation via Box–Behnken design: a systematic approach

Journal of Microencapsulation, 2014
This work demonstrates Box-Behnken design (BBD)'s capability in exploring scientific principles governing a process, different from its use in process optimisation. We have investigated nanoprecipitation (NP) of temozolomide with polycaprolactone. Five factors, surfactant, stirring speed (SS), dropping rate (DR), phase-volume ratio (PVR) and drug ...

Polycarbonate Colours Optimization Using Box Behnken Design (BBD)

Science of Advanced Materials, 2021
The principal objective of incorporating pigments in the polymer is to introduce color either for aesthetic reasons or for the functional requirements. The enhancement of extrusion process parameters is necessary for the proper dispersion of pigment in the polymer.

Box-Behnken Design: alternative multivariate design in broiler nutrition research

World's Poultry Science Journal, 2010
The focus of the review is to show how the Box-Behnken Design (BBD) could be applied in poultry nutrition research. BBD is a multivariate experimental design which uses less treatment combinations and allows researchers to estimate and optimise processes.

Nanostructured lipid carrier for transdermal gliclazide delivery: development and optimization by Box-Behnken design

Inorganic and Nano-Metal Chemistry, 2022
The aim of current study was to prepare and optimize the nanostructured lipid carrier (NLC) for transdermal gliclazide (GCZ) delivery. The melt emulsification followed by ultrasonication technique was utilized to prepare GCZ–loaded-NLC.

Box-Behnken experimental design for the production of precipitated calcium carbonate

Pure and Applied Chemistry, 2016
Abstract Calcium carbonate (CaCO3) was synthesized by means of ultrasonic process in the presence of the water-soluble polymer carboxymethyl inulin (CMI). Synthesized CaCO3 crystals were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and BET (Brunauer, Emmett and Teller) isotherm.

Optimization of electrochemical ammonia removal using Box–Behnken design

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 2011
Abstract Electrochemical oxidation of ammonia in an undivided cell was studied in the present experiments. The optimization of the influencing factors on electrochemical removal of ammonia by response surface methodology (RSM) was also studied. Ammonia could be effectively removed by electrochemical method, and which was mainly oxidized into harmless

Determination of Alendronate Sodium by Box-Behnken Statistical Design

Chromatographia, 2010
Spectrophotometric and LC methods have been developed and validated for the analysis of alendronate sodium in tablet dosage forms. Methods were based on reaction of the primary amino group of alendronate with ninhydrin reagent in methanolic solution of sodium bicarbonate.

Batch Grinding of Dolomite Using Box-Behnken Design

Journal of Chemical Engineering & Process Technology, 2013
The aim of our research paper was to apply response surface methodology for modeling of grinding Dolomite ore using ball mill with the parameter considering: 1. Time of Grinding. 2. Ball Size. 3. Feed Quantity. 4. Feed Size. Specific energy consumption also decreases with feed quantity at all ball sizes.
