Thermo-hydraulic finite element modelling of district heating network by the uncoupled approach
The modelling of uncoupled fluid flow and heat transfer problems of a district heating network using the finite element method (FEM) is presented. Since the standard thermo-hydraulic pipe elements cannot be directly used for modelling insulation, the ...

Experimental study on secondary bonding of thin carbon fibre twill laminates
The application of thin composite material laminate secondary bonding technology to the main loadbearing structure of small UAV wings has important engineering applications for reducing the manufacturing costs of wing box section. A single-lap structural

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Sub-Poissonian photon statistics in a strongly coupled single-qubit laser
We investigate qubit lasing in the strong coupling limit. The qubit is given by a Cooper-pair box, and population inversion is established by an additional third state, which can be addressed via quasiparticle tunneling.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

PT-supersymmetric partner of a short-range square well
In a box of size $L$, a spatially antisymmetric square-well potential of a purely imaginary strength ${\rm i}g$ and size $l < L$ is interpreted as an initial element of the SUSY hierarchy of solvable Hamiltonians, the energies of which are all real for ...
