ABSTRACT Rebuilding fish stocks to levels above which they produce Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) is a management aim for all European commercially exploited stocks. Progress is typically monitored against the fishing mortality that produces MSY in the long term (FMSY), however, the corresponding biomass target (BMSY) is rarely evaluated nor reported.

Bisphenol A alternatives are manufactured as potentially less harmful substitutes of bisphenol A (BPA) that offer similar functionality. These alternatives are already in the market, entering the environment and thus raising ecological concerns. However, it can be expected that levels of BPA alternatives will dominate in the future, they are limited ...

Transglutaminase‐mediated cytokeratin modifications implicated in bile‐acid‐induced hepatocyte death
Cholestasis and bile‐acid exposure enhance expression and activity of protein crosslinking enzymes TG1 and TG2 in hepatocytes. Substrate proteins were identified by mass spectrometry using biotin‐labeled peptides (pepK5/pepT26) or amine donor (biotinylated pentylamine; BPA). Crosslinking‐induced aggregation and fragmentation of keratin 18 and 8 (K18/K8)

Toward a global repository of insect traits (GRIT)
Biodiversity loss is accelerating, yet insect conservation is hindered by the absence of a centralised, comprehensive trait database. We propose the GRIT, a FAIR, open‐access platform uniting datasets and collaborators worldwide. GRIT will harness advanced computational tools for trait acquisition and imputation, enabling large‐scale ecological ...
