A study on the dimensional design of brackets of multi-tiered wooden pagodas in East Asia

open access: yesJournal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering
Methods for dimensional design of brackets of multi-tiered wooden pagodas in East Asia are discussed. The research method for quantifying the brackets design of each wooden five-tiered pagoda by setting a V-value with an initial value equal to 1, and ...

Canonical endomorphism field on a Lie algebra

open access: yes, 2010
We show that every Lie algebra is equipped with a natural $(1,1)$-variant tensor field, the "canonical endomorphism field", naturally determined by the Lie structure, and satisfying a certain Nijenhuis bracket condition.

In vitro evaluation of frictional forces of two ceramic orthodontic brackets versus a stainless steel bracket in combination with two types of archwires

open access: yesJournal of Orthodontic Science, 2015
Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare frictional forces between monocrystalline alumina (MA), polycrystalline alumina (PA), and stainless steel (SS) brackets with two SS wires: Rectangular and round. Materials and Methods: In this in vitro study,

Ce3+‐Activated Lithium Rare‐Earth Oxonitridolithosilicates: A New Class of LED Phosphors with Similarities to Garnets

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Garnet‐like luminescence upon Ce3+‐activation is found in the first six representatives Li9RESi4N4O8 (RE = Y, La, Gd, Dy, Yb, Lu) of the substance class of lithium rare‐earth oxonitridolithosilicates, which also show a novel structure type. High‐temperature solid‐state synthesis yielded crystalline samples for single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction‐based ...

A comparative study of frictional force in self-ligating brackets according to the bracket-archwire angulation, bracket material, and wire type

open access: yesThe Korean Journal of Orthodontics, 2015
Objective This study aimed to compare the frictional force (FR) in self-ligating brackets among different bracket-archwire angles, bracket materials, and archwire types.

Exceptional Thermal Conductivity in Printed Dielectrics through Compositional and Microstructural Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A multi‐generational compositional design creates a printable low‐loss dielectric composite that achieves over 16 W m−1 K−1. This breakthrough is enabled by thermal post‐processing, which promotes templated crystallization in a polymer matrix from surface‐modified particles, creating a “hetero‐percolated network.” The resulting material is three ...

The Effect Of Sıze, Materıal, Stıffness And Angulatıon On T He Prıctıonal Forces Between Bracket And Archwıre

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Orthodontics, 2004
Because an important part of force is lost in friction, this friction between wire and bracket is very important for clinicians. The aim of the study is to investigate the effect of an angle on the friction resistance between the stainless steel bracket ...
