High frequency of BRAFV600E mutations in ameloblastoma [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, 2014
AbstractAmeloblastoma is a benign but locally infiltrative odontogenic neoplasm. Although ameloblastomas rarely metastasise, recurrences together with radical surgery often result in facial deformity and significant morbidity. Development of non‐invasive therapies has been precluded by a lack of understanding of the molecular background of ...

Reduced expression of THRβ in papillary thyroid carcinomas: relationship with BRAF mutation, aggressiveness and miR expression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Purpose Down-regulation of thyroid hormone receptor beta (THRβ) gene has been described in several human malignancies, including thyroid cancer. In this study, we analyzed THRβ mRNA expression in surgical specimens from a series of human papillary ...

Frequency and significance of Ras, Tert promoter, and Braf mutations in cytologically indeterminate thyroid nodules: A monocentric case series at a tertiary-level Endocrinology unit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
PurposeThe management of thyroid nodules of indeterminate cytology is controversial. Our study aimed to establish the frequency and significance of H-,K-,N-RAS, TERT promoter, and BRAF gene mutations in thyroid nodes of indeterminate cytology and to ...

Identification of coexistence of BRAF V600E mutation and EZH2 gain specifically in melanoma as a promising target for combination therapy

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine, 2017
Background Coexistence of enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) and BRAF gene aberrations has been described in many cancer types. In this study, we aim to explore the coexistence status of BRAF V600E mutation and the copy number variation of EZH2 and ...

Clinicopathologic Features and Prognosis of BRAF Mutated Colorectal Cancer Patients

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2020
Background:BRAFV600E mutation is associated with poor prognosis of colorectal cancer (CRC) patients, but the comparison of clinic-pathologic features between V600E and non-V600E mutation was not well-known in CRC patients.

Intra- and inter-tumor heterogeneity of BRAF(V600E))mutations in primary and metastatic melanoma. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
The rationale for using small molecule inhibitors of oncogenic proteins as cancer therapies depends, at least in part, on the assumption that metastatic tumors are primarily clonal with respect to mutant oncogene.

Prevalence of BRAF V600E Mutation in the Iranian Patients with Hairy Cell Leukemia: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesAsian Pacific Journal of Cancer Biology, 2021
Objective: BRAF V600E mutation has several implications in hairy cell leukemia (HCL). The prevalence of This mutation has been investigated in various populations, but not in Iran.

MicroRNAs in melanoma development and resistance to target therapy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
microRNAs constitute a complex class of pleiotropic post-transcriptional regulators of gene expression involved in the control of several physiologic and pathologic processes.

Presence of BRAF V600E Mutation in Nevus Cases

open access: yesTurkiye Klinikleri Journal of Medical Sciences, 2010
V-raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B1 (BRAF), belongs to the family of V-RAF-1 murine leukemia viral oncogene homolog 1 (RAF) gene located in the long arm of chromosome 7 (7q34). The BRAF gene encodes a protein that has function in mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway with serin/threonin kinase activity.

BRAF VE1 Immunoreactivity Patterns in Epithelioid Glioblastomas Positive for BRAF V600E Mutation [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Surgical Pathology, 2015
Epithelioid glioblastomas (E-GBMs) manifest BRAF V600E mutation in up to 50% of cases, compared with a small percentage of ordinary GBMs, suggesting that they are best considered variants rather than a different pattern of GBM. Availability of a targeted therapy, vemurafenib, may make testing BRAF status important for treatment.
