Nanomaterials for brain metastasis
Journal of Controlled ReleaseTumor metastasis is a significant contributor to the mortality of cancer patients. Specifically, current conventional treatments are unable to achieve complete remission of brain metastasis. This is due to the unique pathological environment of brain metastasis, which differs significantly from peripheral metastasis.

Tumor metastasis is a complex, multistep process that appears to be dependent upon a number of host and tumor properties (Fidler 1975a; Weiss 1977a; Fidler and Nicolson 1979; Nicolson 1978a). First, emergent malignant tumor cells must be able to survive and grow in a potentially hostile environment and proliferate to form a primary tumor.
