Abstract Energy bars are widely consumed functional foods among athletes and physically active consumers who require convenient sources of sustained energy. Their carbohydrate composition, particularly the type and ratio of digestible sugars such as glucose, fructose and sucrose, strongly influences glycaemic index (GI), postprandial blood glucose ...

Optimization of Brake Disc Thickness and Radius Using Different Disc Brake Materials by FEM
The main purpose of this study is the optimization of disc brake materials by changing the radius and the thickness of the disc using different materials to choose the optimum disc brake material. The modelling of disc brake is made in CATIA software, the thermal and structure analysis is done using ANSYS workbench.

Asymmetric Dishonesty in Markets: A Field Experiment on Male Sellers and Buyer Gender
ABSTRACT Dishonest behavior is a pervasive phenomenon that imposes substantial economic and social costs on society. While the literature extensively documents gender differences in who lies, far less attention has been paid to whether sellers discriminate in their dishonesty based on the gender of the buyer.

ABSTRACT In this study, a robust position control strategy is presented for a two‐stage electro‐hydraulic actuator system using a fractional‐order proportional–integral–derivative (FOPID) controller tuned by Kirchhoff's law algorithm (KLA). Electro‐hydraulic systems exhibit strong nonlinearities, parameter uncertainties, and external disturbances ...

ABSTRACT To address the dual challenges of routine driving vibration and impact loads in vehicle seat suspensions, a novel variable‐gap magnetorheological damper (VGMRD) is proposed. By combining a tapered piston with a conformal variable‐diameter cylinder, stroke‐dependent, dual‐mode damping characteristics are achieved without the need for complex ...
