On the stability of branching continued fractions

Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 1996
We study two aspects of the stability problem for various types of branching fractions using the domains of the elements, the region of convergence, and limit-periodic fractions.

Evaluation of Branched Continued Fractions using Block-Tridiagonal Linear Systems

IMA Journal of Numerical Analysis, 1988
It is shown the convergent of a branched continued fraction (for the definition see the previous review) can be considered as the first unknown of a block-tridiagonal linear system. Hence algorithms for the solution of such systems of equations can be used for the computation of convergents of branched continued fractions.

Truncation Error Bounds for Branched Continued Fraction Expansions of Some Appell's Hypergeometric Functions F2

Symmetry
This paper considers the problem of approximating some Appell’s hypergeometric functions F2 by their branched continued fraction expansions. Using the formula for the difference of two approximants of a branched continued fraction, we established the ...

Truncation error bounds of branched continued fraction expansions of special ratios of Horn's hypergeometric functions \(H_4\)

Altay Conference Proceedings in Mathematics
The paper considers the branched continued fraction extensions of special ratios of Horn's hypergeometric functions \(H_4\) with real parameters and variables.

Numerical stability of the branched continued fraction expansions of the ratios of Horn's confluent hypergeometric functions H6

Mathematical Modeling and Computing
The paper establishes the conditions of numerical stability of a numerical branched continued fraction using a new method of estimating the relative errors of the computing of approximants using a backward recurrence algorithm.

Development of the Theory of Branched Continued Fractions in 1996–2016

Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2018
The authors analyze the research in the theory of branching continued fractions carried out during the last 20 years in the directions developed under the general supervision of Professor V. Ya. Skorobogatko (18.07.1927--04.07.1996). Some of the directions are the interpolation of functions of several variables by branching continued fractions, the ...
