Tessellation Groups, Harmonic Analysis on Non‐Compact Symmetric Spaces and the Heat Kernel in View of Cartan Convolutional Neural networks

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we continue the development of the Cartan neural networks programme, launched with three previous publications, by focusing on some mathematical foundational aspects that we deem necessary for our next steps forward. The mathematical and conceptual results are diverse and span various mathematical fields, but the inspiring ...

Brane probes and gauge theory/gravity dualities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We examine the use of branes as probes of supergravity geometries which arise in the study of gauge theory/gravity dualities. We investigate the moduh spaces of supersymmetric gauge theories through moduh spaces of brane probes in the dual gravity ...

Monopoles, Clarified

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT We propose a manifestly duality‐invariant, Lorentz‐invariant, and local action to describe quantum electrodynamics in the presence of magnetic monopoles that derives from Sen's formalism. By employing field strengths as the dynamical variables, rather than potentials, this formalism resolves longstanding ambiguities in prior frameworks.

End of the world boundaries for chiral quantum gravity theories

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We describe the construction of large classes of explicit string theory backgrounds corresponding to 6d and 4d chiral theories with end of the world boundaries, and describe the strong coupling phenomena involved in gapping the chiral (but non-anomalous)

Brane webs and magnetic quivers for SQCD

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
It is widely considered that the classical Higgs branch of 4d N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 SQCD is a well understood object. However there is no satisfactory understanding of its structure.

Initial Distance‐Dependent Mean Force Drives Synaptic Vesicle Motion Toward Fusion Sites in Stimulated Hippocampal Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 12, 27 February 2026.
Synaptic vesicle (SV) motion and exocytosis dynamics in the presynaptic terminals of live neurons are intimately linked to synaptic transmission during neuronal activity. In this work, it is revealed that, during electrical stimulation, SVs located farther from their fusion sites exhibit greater straightness and experience larger mean forces directed ...

Localization and Dualities in Three Dimensional Superconformal Field Theories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this thesis we apply the technique of localization to three-dimensional N=2 superconformal field theories. We consider both theories which are exactly superconformal, and those which are believed to flow to nontrivial superconformal fixed points, for

Deparametrization of General Relativity by Space‐Time Filling Unstable D9‐Brane With Arbitrary Value of Tachyon

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
We calculate the algebra of constraints for deparametrized general relativity with a space‐time filling unstable D‐brane for an arbitrary value of tachyon field T. We also propose observables that have vanishing Poisson brackets with all first‐class constraints.

The non-integrability of strings in massive type IIA and their holographic duals

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
In this work we study various aspects of six-dimensional N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = (1, 0) SCFTs. We consider the construction of their string duals in Massive IIA and discuss some observables in given examples.

Comments on the RG‐Flow in Open String Field Theory

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 73, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract We define a metric G$G$ on the KBc‐subalgebra modulo gauge and describe the worldsheet RG‐flow as the gradient flow of the action of cubic open string field theory, where the flow lines are kink‐solitons. In particular, for a constant tachyon the gradient flow equations are equivalent to the RG‐equations. Additionally, a more general family of
