The essential micronutrient selenium (Se) is retained better in animal and human tissues in its organic forms while nonprotein selenoamino acids, such as selenomethylselenocysteine (SeMetSeCys), are considered as functional organic Se species. We studied

We screened a panel of 98 Brassicaceae genotypes (97 Brassica napus and 1 Sinapis alba) for cabbage stem flea beetle (Psylliodes chrysocephala) larval antibiosis. We found limited evidence for antibiosis across B. napus but consistent antibiosis in S. alba. Brassicaceae relatives may therefore better inform resistance traits for breeding.

Intercropping mitigates incidence of the oilseed rape insect pest complex
Intercropping reduces the incidence of the oilseed rape insect pest complex with a significant impact of the direct visual and physical disruption provided by the companion plant. Abstract BACKGROUND Oilseed rape (OSR, Brassica napus) is a major crop requiring numerous phytosanitary treatments.

A comparative study on hypoglycemic properties, lipid profile and bioactive components of hydro-alcoholic extracts of cooked and raw Brassica napus. [PDF]
Introduction: Many plants with anti-oxidant properties proved to be effective on diabetes treatment. Brassica napus (turnip) is an anti-oxidant plant consumed raw or cooked.

Here, we report for the first time a target site mutation in the CYP51 gene of the oilseed rape phoma stem canker fungus Plenodomus biglobosus (Leptosphaeria biglobosa) that is associated with decreased sensitivity to sterol demethylation inhibitor fungicides.

Three molecular profiles identified among Art v 1/Amb a 4‐sensitized patients: Art v 1 monosensitization, Amb a 4 monosensitization, and dual sensitization to both allergens. Art v 1 monosensitization was predominantly associated with allergic rhinitis, reflecting a classical airborne allergy pattern.

A breeding method for Ogura CMS restorer line independent of restorer source in Brassica napus
The Ogura cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) line of Brassica napus has gained significant attention for its use in harnessing heterosis. It remains unaffected by temperature and environment and is thorough and stable.
