Isotope dependence of the breakdown strength of gases [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics, 1983
It has been found that while the highly nonuniform direct current breakdown voltages, V/sub s/, of H/sub 2/ and NH/sub 3/ exceed, respectively, those of D/sub 2/ and ND/sub 3/, the V/sub s/ of CH/sub 4/ is substantially lower than that of CD/sub 4/.

Breakdown strength of solid|solid interface [PDF]

open access: yes2010 10th IEEE International Conference on Solid Dielectrics, 2010
Interfaces between solids are generally considered weak regions in electrical insulation systems. This is particularly so if the electrical stress is applied parallel to the interface. Important parameters, affecting the breakdown strength, are interface pressure, humidity, presence of liquid dielectric and the surface roughness of the solid in contact.

Effects of Ferromagnetic Nanoparticles and Fluorination on Breakdown of SiR/Fe3 O4 Nanocomposites in High Magnetic Field

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
High magnetic field causes premature failure of insulation. In order to improve the breakdown strength of silicone rubber (SiR), different filler contents of ferroferric oxide (Fe3O4) nanoparticles were added.

Investigation on Charge Transport in Polypropylene Film under High Electric Field by Experiments and Simulation

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
The charge transport in polypropylene was studied under DC electric fields at different temperatures. By the experimental measurement and simulation of the BCT model, we studied conduction currents, breakdown strength, and space charge distribution.

Hierarchical fiber bundle strength statistics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Multi-scale modeling is currently one of the most active research topics in a wide range of disciplines. In this thesis we develop innovative hierarchical multi-scale models to analyze the probabilistic strength of fiber bundle structures.
