Nonlinear conductivity and breakdown strength characteristics of silicon carbide and hexagonal boron nitride co-doped epoxy resin composites

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
In this study, the method of co-doping semi-conductor silicon carbide (SiC) and insulating inorganic phase hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) in epoxy resin (EP) composites has been proposed for considering both the nonlinear conductivity and the breakdown ...

Dielectric Strength of Polymeric Solid–Solid Interfaces under Dry-Mate and Wet-Mate Conditions

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
One of the most important causes of insulation system failure is the breakdown of the interface between two solid dielectrics; understanding the mechanisms governing this breakdown phenomenon is therefore critical.

Iron homeostasis disruption and lipid peroxidation in skeletal muscle during short‐term immobilization

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.

Impulse-driven surface breakdown data : a Weibull statistical analysis

open access: yes, 2012
Surface breakdown of oil-immersed solids chosen to insulate high-voltage, pulsed-power systems is a problem that can lead to catastrophic failure. Statistical analysis of the breakdown voltages, or times, associated with such liquid-solid interfaces can ...

Synergistic improved electrical resistivity-temperature characteristics and DC breakdown strength in insulating XLPE composites by incorporating positive temperature coefficient particles

open access: yesPolymer Testing, 2023
Weakening the electrical resistivity-temperature dependence of cross-linked polyethene (XLPE) is an effective way to enhance the electric field uniformity of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cables.

Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) in a Patient With Compound Heterozygous OPA1 Variants: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Effect of Thickness on the Space Charge Behavior and DC Breakdown Strength of Cross-Linked Polyethylene Insulation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In high voltage direct current (HVDC) cable systems, study of electric field distortion created by space charge accumulation is very important for examining insulation performance.

Brainstem and Cerebellar Volume Loss and Associated Clinical Features in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) is a neurodegenerative ‘tauopathy’ with predominating pathology in the basal ganglia and midbrain. Caudal tau spread frequently implicates the cerebellum; however, the pattern of atrophy remains equivocal.

Early Clinical, Imaging, and Pathological Characteristics of SRPK3/TTN‐Digenic Myopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy was recently established as a skeletal muscle myopathy caused by digenic inheritance. This study characterizes the early clinical presentation of SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy in one previously reported and seven newly identified pediatric patients.
