A novel current-limiting hybrid DC breaker based on thyristors
Since the DC current has no zero-crossing in high-voltage and large-capacity DC scenarios, and the low line impedance results in a large growth rate of fault current, the breaking requirements of DC circuit breakers (DCCB) are further increased.

Breaking through the Full-Duplex Wi-Fi capacity gain [PDF]
In this work we identify a seminal design guideline that prevents current Full-Duplex (FD) MAC protocols to scale the FD capacity gain (i.e. 2x the half-duplex throughput) in single-cell Wi-Fi networks. Under such guideline (referred to as 1:1), a MAC protocol attempts to initiate up to two simultaneous transmissions in the FD bandwidth.

Switching Arc Energy Limitation Approach for LV Circuit Breakers
This paper presents an experimentally verified approach to deriving switching arc energy limitations for low-voltage (LV) circuit breakers (CBs). Air-insulated contactors equipped with additional vacuum-insulated (VI) arcing contacts were tested for AC ...

Line-of-Sight MIMO in Point-to-Point Millimeter Wave Links via Scattering From Rough Surfaces
We analyze a point-to-point MIMO communication system over a deterministic channel with two paths: line-of-sight (LoS) and a scattered path over a rough surface.

Influencing Factors of Breaking Capacity of Double-Break Vacuum Circuit Breakers
Using a series arrangement of two vacuum interrupters (VIs) has been proved to be an effective way of developing higher voltage vacuum circuit breakers (VCBs), which are known as double-break VCBs. The uniform distribution of the transient recovery voltage (TRV) across each VI is very critical for the breaking capacity of double-break VCBs.

Strong converse for the classical capacity of entanglement-breaking and Hadamard channels via a sandwiched Renyi relative entropy [PDF]
A strong converse theorem for the classical capacity of a quantum channel states that the probability of correctly decoding a classical message converges exponentially fast to zero in the limit of many channel uses if the rate of communication exceeds ...

Directional current breaking capacity requirements for HVDC circuit breakers [PDF]
Circuit breakers are expected to be a vital element within any high capacity HVDC network. This paper examines the directional current breaking capacity requirements that might be seen on a typical HVDC grid, as required for the specification of backup protection.

Development and field application of a pulse-jet hydraulic impactor
The current studies on hydraulic pulse jet mainly focus on the pulse jet flow field and its effect, but have never extended to the collaboration of hydraulic impact and pulse jet for rock breaking.
