Performance of Rotary Cutter Type Breaking Machine for Breakingand Deshelling Cocoa Roasted Beans

open access: yesCoffee and Cocoa Research Journal, 2005
Conversion of cocoa beans to chocolate product is, therefore, one of the promising alternatives to increase the value added of dried cocoa beans. On the other hand, the development of chocolate industry requires an appropriate technology that is not ...

Entanglement sharing in one-particle states [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Entanglement sharing among sites of one-particle states is considered using the measure of concurrence. These are the simplest in an hierarchy of number-specific states of many qubits and corresponds to ``one-magnon'' states of spins.

DNA double-strand break repair capacity and risk of breast cancer [PDF]

open access: yesCarcinogenesis, 2007
A tumorigenic role of the non-homologous end-joining (NHEJ) pathway for the repair of DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) has been suggested by our finding of a significant association between increased breast cancer risk and a cooperative effect of single-nucleotide polymorphisms in NHEJ genes.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Analysis of electric repulsion on contacts of different molded case circuit breakers

open access: yesAIP Advances
The electric repulsion between the movable contact and static contact of molded case circuit breakers (MCCBs) will directly affect the breaking speed of the movable contact, which in turn affects its breaking capacity.

Interruption characteristic of self-triggering low voltage hybrid DC circuit breaker with non-polarized bidirectional breaking

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
The global new photovoltaic installed capacity reached 345.5GW in 2023. As the installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation systems increases worldwide, there is a growing demand for circuit breakers to withstand higher voltages on the DC side of ...

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.
