In an ERα‐positive BC cell, SNAI2 recruited DNMT3B to form a SNAI2‐DNMT3B combination and bound on the E‐box region of the ESR1 promoter to stimulate promoter methylation. The elevated ESR1 methylation resulted in a condensed chromatin state, transcriptional repression, and gene silencing of ESR1.

1. C9orf142 is elevated in TNBC patients and its elevation predicts unfavourable clinical outcome. 2. C9orf142 augments TNBC progression through transcriptional transaction of MTBP to regulate its downstream MDM2/p53/p21 signaling axis. 3. C9orf142 promotes resistance of TNBC cells to CDK4/6 inhibitor partially depend on MTBP/MDM2/p53/p21 signaling ...

Differential sensitivities to lactate transport inhibitors of breast cancer cell lines [PDF]
This is linked to the online version of the paper at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1530/ERC-13-0132.The tumour microenvironment is known to be acidic due to high glycolytic rates of tumour cells.

H1Innovative approaches to combat anti‐cancer drug resistance: Targeting lncRNA and autophagy
Over 30 lncRNAs impact autophagy in 16 tumour cell types, contributing to drug resistance. Thirteen anti‐cancer drugs are influenced by lncRNAs and autophagy in drug resistance. Multiple lncRNAs concurrently regulate cellular autophagy, impacting resistance to a single drug.

Establishment and characterization of two human breast carcinoma cell lines by spontaneous immortalization: Discordance between Estrogen, Progesterone and HER2/neu receptors of breast carcinoma tissues with derived cell lines [PDF]
Background: Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women throughout the world. Therefore, established cell lines are widely used as in vitro experimental models in cancer research. Methods: Two continuous human breast cell lines, designated

miR-221/222 promotes S-phase entry and cellular migration in control of basal-like breast cancer. [PDF]
The miR-221/222 cluster has been demonstrated to function as oncomiR in human cancers. miR-221/222 promotes epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and confers tamoxifen resistance in breast cancer. However, the effects and mechanisms by which miR-221/

The effect of bovine milk lactoferrin on human breast cancer cell lines [PDF]
The evidence that biologically active food components are key environmental factors affecting the incidence of many chronic diseases is overwhelming. However, the full extent of such components in our diet is unknown, as well as our understanding of ...

Association of invasion-promoting tenascin-C additional domains with breast cancers in young women [PDF]
Introduction: Tenascin-C (TNC) is a large extracellular matrix glycoprotein that shows prominent stromal expression in many solid tumours. The profile of isoforms expressed differs between cancers and normal breast, with the two additional domains AD1 ...

Expression of a SOX1 overlapping transcript in neural differentiation and cancer models [PDF]
SOX1 is a member of the SOXB1 subgroup of transcription factors involved in early embryogenesis, CNS development and maintenance of neural stem cells. The structure and regulation of the human SOX1 locus has been less studied than that of SOX2, another ...
