Spin-wave modes of elliptical skyrmions in magnetic nanodots
Magnetic skyrmions, whose shapes are ellipse due to the presence of anisotropic Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction (DMI), have already been discovered in experiments recently.

Diaphragmatic motion recorded by M-mode ultrasonography: limits of normality
Chest ultrasonography has proven to be useful in the diagnosis of diaphragm dysfunction. The aim of the present study was to determine the normal values of the motion of both hemidiaphragms recorded by M-mode ultrasonography.

Bending and breathing modes of the Galactic disc [PDF]
We explore the hypothesis that a passing satellite or dark matter subhalo has excited coherent oscillations of the Milky Way's stellar disk in the direction perpendicular to the Galactic midplane. This work is motivated by recent observations of spatially dependent bulk vertical motions within ~ kpc of the Sun.

Time-Domain Investigations of Coherent Phonons in van der Waals Thin Films
Coherent phonons can be launched in materials upon localized pulsed optical excitation, and be subsequently followed in time-domain, with a sub-picosecond resolution, using a time-delayed pulsed probe. This technique yields characterization of mechanical,

A scan of universal breathing‐mode reductions [PDF]
AbstractThe near horizon limits of M2 and D3 branes probing special holonomy cones give rise to supersymmetric AdS4 × M7 and AdS5 × M5 solutions of D = 11 and type IIB supergravity, respectively, where M7 and M5 are special types of Einstein spaces.

Corner modes of the breathing kagome lattice: Origin and robustness [PDF]
We study the non-trivial phase of the two-dimensional breathing kagome lattice, displaying both edge and corner modes. The corner localized modes of a two-dimensional flake were initially identified as a signature of a higher-order topological phase but later shown to be trivial for perturbations that were thought to protect them.

We study the breathing (monopole) oscillations and their damping in a harmonically trapped one-dimensional (1D) Bose gas in the quasicondensate regime using a finite-temperature classical field approach.

Breathing mode in the extended Skyrme model [PDF]
We study an extended Skyrme model which includes fourth- and sixth-order terms. We explore some static properties such as the [Delta]-nucleon mass splitting and investigate the Skyrmion breathing mode in the framework of the linear response theory. We find that the monopole response function has a pronounced peak located at [similar to]400 MeV, which ...
