A longitudinal network analysis of pain, psychological processes and psychological and sexual distress in women with endometriosis

open access: yesBritish Journal of Health Psychology, Volume 31, Issue 2, May 2026.
Abstract Objectives Previous studies in endometriosis have linked the experience and impact of pain to psychological distress and sexual dysfunction. However, little is known about how these factors interact over time or how underlying cognitive‐emotional processes contribute to their complex interconnections.

Synthesis of Conjugated Linear and Cyclic Polyynes by Selective Alkyne Metathesis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 17, 20 April 2026.
The formation of polyynes with an odd number of conjugated triple bonds is challenging, particularly for complex architectures since most established methods rely on irreversible C–C bond‐forming reactions. To address this, we have developed the synthesis of triynes via alkyne metathesis.

The caliph and the falcons: a ninth‐century history from Iceland to Iraq

open access: yesEarly Medieval Europe, Volume 34, Issue 2, Page 299-322, May 2026.
In the late ninth and early tenth centuries, an extraordinary number of falcons were given to the ʿAbbāsid caliphs in Baghdad, many of which were white. Gifts from competing dynasties in the northern provinces of the Caliphate, at least some of these birds were almost certainly gyrfalcons from near the Arctic Circle.

An Angler‐Friendly AI Pipeline for Self‐Reporting and Automatic Catch Analysis in Recreational Fisheries

open access: yesFish and Fisheries, Volume 27, Issue 3, Page 627-642, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Monitoring recreational fisheries is difficult: anglers are widely dispersed, gear and practices vary, and many species are involved, which leads to fragmented and scarce data. To address these issues, we developed an Artificial Intelligence (AI) pipeline that turns angler‐reported photos into standardised records of catch composition and ...

Compound‐Specific Stable Isotope Analysis Reveals Population‐Specific Differences in Chinook Salmon Trophic Level and Basal Resource Use in the Northeast Pacific

open access: yesFisheries Oceanography, Volume 35, Issue 3, Page 397-412, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Chinook salmon exhibit far‐flung and disparate population‐specific marine migrations that have made it difficult to assess their trophic ecology. In this study, we collected returning and resident subadult Fraser River Chinook salmon in 2018 and 2019 from population groups with different known run‐timings (spring, summer, and fall) and marine ...
