Briacavatolides A–C, New Briaranes from the Taiwanese Octocoral Briareum excavatum [PDF]

open access: yesMarine Drugs, 2012
In order to search for novel bioactive substances from marine organisms, we have investigated the organic extracts of the Taiwanese octocoral Briareum excavatum collected at Orchid Island.

16-Hydroxybriaranes from the octocoral Briareum stechei [PDF]

open access: yesPhytochemistry Letters, 2023
[[abstract]]Two new 16-hydroxybriaranes, 11-dehydroxybriavioid B (1) and 12-epi-briastecholide L (2), have been isolated from an algal-containing octocoral identified as Briareum stechei.

Briarenolides U–Y, New Anti-Inflammatory Briarane Diterpenoids from an Octocoral Briareum sp. (Briareidae) [PDF]

open access: yesMarine Drugs, 2015
Five new 13,14-epoxybriarane diterpenoids, briarenolides U–Y (1–5), were isolated from the octocoral Briareum sp. The structures of briaranes 1–5 were elucidated by spectroscopic methods.

Relative configuration of micrograms of natural compounds using proton residual chemical shift anisotropy [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
Determination of 3D molecular structures remains challenging for natural products or organic compounds available in minute amounts. Here, the authors determine the structure of complex molecules, including few micrograms of briarane B-3 isolated from ...

Briaviolide Q, a New Briarane from the Cultured

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2018
A new briarane-type diterpenoid, briaviolide Q ( 1 ), along with a known analogue, excavatolide Z ( 2 ), were obtained from a cultured octocoral Briareum violaceum .

Marine diterpenoid targets STING palmitoylation in mammalian cells [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications Chemistry, 2023
Natural products are important sources of therapeutic agents and useful drug discovery tools. The fused macrocycles and multiple stereocenters of briarane-type diterpenoids pose a major challenge to total synthesis and efforts to characterize their ...

Nutrient dynamics in coral symbiosis depend on both the relative and absolute abundance of Symbiodiniaceae species [PDF]

open access: yesMicrobiome, 2022
Background Symbionts provide a variety of reproductive, nutritional, and defensive resources to their hosts, but those resources can vary depending on symbiont community composition.

Residual Chemical Shift Anisotropies in the Structure Determination of Small Molecules. [PDF]

open access: yesMagn Reson Chem
Plasma neutrophil elastase(ELANE) was markedly elevated in patients with alcohol use disorder, indicating a dysregulated protease‐antiprotease inflammatory balance characterised by decreased SERPINA3. ELANE showed excellent diagnostic specificity(AUC = 0.8683), supporting its potential utility as a neuroinflammatory biomarker for AUD.
