Briaexcavatins C–F, four new briarane-related diterpenoids from the Formosan octocoral Briareum excavatum (Briareidae)

open access: closedChemistry Letters, 2006
Abstract A new chlorinated briarane, briaexcavatin U (1), has been isolated from a cultured octocoral Briareum excavatum. The structure, including the absolute stereochemistry of 1 was elucidated by spectroscopic methods and further confirmed by X-ray data analysis.

ChemInform Abstract: New Briaranes from the Octocorals Briareum excavatum (Briareidae) and Junceella fragilis (Ellisellidae).

open access: closedTetrahedron, 2008
Abstract Six 12-hydroxybriaranes, including four new diterpenoids, briaexcavatins I–L (1–4), and two known metabolites, excavatolides C (5) and E (6), have been isolated from the cultured scleraxonia Briareum excavatum. In addition, the gorgonian coral Junceella fragilis yielded a new chlorinated briarane, fragilide C (10).

ChemInform Abstract: Excavatoids L—N, New 12‐Hydroxybriaranes from the Cultured Octocoral Briareum excavatum (Briareidae)

open access: closedBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 2010
Abstract Chemical investigations on the cultured octocoral Briareum excavatum have led to the isolation of five new 8,17-epoxybriarane diterpenoids, excavatoids G–K (1–5). The structures of briaranes 1–5 were determined on the basis of spectroscopic methods and the structure of 1 was further confirmed by a single-crystal X-ray ...

Journal of Natural Products, 1999
Four new briarane diterpenes, briaexcavatolides K-N (1-4), along with a known diterpene, 5, have been isolated from the Taiwanese gorgonian Briareum excavatum. The structures of the new metabolites were established by extensive spectral analyses. Furthermore, the structure, including the relative configuration of briaexcavatolide K (1), was confirmed ...
