Crystal growth of Cr3+:LiCaAlF6 by Bridgman technique

Abstract In this paper, the crystal growth technique of the tunable laser material, Cr 3+ :LiCaAlF 6 by the Bridgman method is discussed. High-quality single crystals with dimensions of up to 10 × 120 mm and 20 × 80 mm have been grown. Flashlamp-pumped operation of a Cr:LiCAF laser rod has provided an electrical slope efficiency of 1.07%.

Growth of CdTe crustals by the vertical bridgman technique

Abstract CdTe crystals were grown by the vertical Bridgman technique and the quality of the crystals was examined. It was found that under optimized conditions crystals with lower defect density and with higher crystal perfectness can be obtained.

Bulk crystals of tetracene grown by the vapor-Bridgman technique

A universal approach is described for preparing single crystals of organic materials that can only be sublimed, in this case tetracene, with extensions of several millimeters along all three dimensions. It is observed that crystals grown by this technique are more brittle than crystals grown by conventional sublimation methods.

ZnTeO 3 crystal growth by a modified Bridgman technique

Abstract Zinc Tellurite (ZnTeO 3 ) crystals were grown for the first time using a modified Bridgman method with a 2.5 kHz radio frequency (RF) furnace. Single crystal growth of ZnTeO 3 was hindered by many complicating factors, such as the evaporation of TeO 2 above 700 °C and the formation of more than one phase during crystal growth.

Growth of CdTel−x Sex by the LEC and bridgman techniques

Large-grain CdTel−x Sex boules with X (nominal) = 0.05, 0.10 and 0.15 have been grown by the liquid-encapsulated Czochralski technique, using B2O3 as the encapsulant, and also by a modified Bridgman technique. An argon pressure of 20 atm was used in both techniques. Details of the growth apparatus and procedure are presented.

Simple adaptation of the Bridgman high pressure technique for use with liquid media
