Consecutive Bright Pulses in the Vela Pulsar [PDF]

open access: yes2011, ApJ, 735, L17, 2011
We report on the discovery of consecutive bright radio pulses from the Vela pulsar, a new phenomenon that may lead to a greater understanding of the pulsar emission mechanism. This results from a total of 345 hr worth of observations of the Vela pulsar using the University of Tasmania's 26 m radio telescope to study the frequency and statistics of ...

Lightness and brightness [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Biology, 2007
What is lightness? Lightness is the perceptual dimension that runs from black, through gray, to white. The physical counterpart of lightness is the permanent property of a surface that determines what percentage of light the surface reflects. Surfaces that appear white reflect about 90% of the light striking them. Black surfaces reflect about 3%.

Bright spine [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General and Family Medicine, 2018
The spine is homogeneously osteosclerotic and which appears to have no particular abnormal findings, however, that was proved to be a result of multiple metastases from prostate cancer. We should consider the possibility of prostate cancer if we see a "bright spine" on X-ray examination.
