High‐Energy Topological Edge States and Strain‐Induced Multiple Flat Bands in a Honeycomb Lattice
This work proposes a novel anti‐twig edge in the honeycomb lattice that supports two symmetric high‐energy edge states. Moreover, the suppression or enhancement of the high‐energy edge state is observed, and strain‐induced multiple flat bands are produced.

Brillouin Zone Folding‐Driven Topological Band Flips Based on BICs via Twisted Photonic Crystals
Brillouin zone folding (BZF)‐driven topological band flips are demonstrated via twisted photonic crystals (PhCs) incorporating bound states in the continuum (BICs). Twist perturbation generates three new bands, each linked to either a BIC or a guided‐mode resonance (GMR).

Brillouin scattering—theory and experiment: tutorial [PDF]
Brillouin scattering is an important and interesting nonlinear effect involving the interaction between optical and acoustic fields in optical waveguides. It is increasingly useful in the field of photonics, where it supplies a tunable ultra-narrow linewidth response that can be used for applications including sensing, filtering, and lasing, as well as

On-chip stimulated Brillouin scattering
We demonstrate on-chip stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in an As2S3 chalcogenide rib waveguide. SBS was characterized in a cm long waveguide with a cross-section 4 μm x 850 nm using the backscattered signal and pump-probe technique. The measured Brillouin shift and its full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) linewidth were ~7.7 GHz and 34 MHz ...

Coherent Rayleigh-Brillouin Scattering
Physical Review Letters, 2002Coherent Rayleigh-Brillouin scattering in gases has been studied experimentally for the first time in the kinetic regime and shown to give line shapes that differ significantly from the spontaneous Rayleigh-Brillouin scattering. A kinetic model was developed to obtain an analytic solution of the line shape for monatomic gases, and good agreement with ...
