nalysis of the characteristics of Mandelstam–Brillouin scattering in varieties of erbium optical fibers

open access: yesОмский научный вестник
The research presents the results of testing the Mandelstam–Brillouin scattering parameters for several types of optical fibers doped with erbium and cerium ions. The obtained Brillouin reflectograms of different types are shown.

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

Brillouin microspectroscopy data of tissue-mimicking gelatin hydrogels

open access: yesData in Brief, 2020
Brillouin spectroscopy, based on the inelastic scattering of light from thermally driven acoustic waves or phonons [1], holds great promise in the field of life sciences as it provides functionally relevant micromechanical information in a contactless ...

Evidence for Itinerant Ferromagnetic Flat Bands Producing Large Transverse Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Itinerant ferromagnetic flat bands are demonstrated in GdCo5 with a high Curie temperature of 940K, a stacked honeycomb–kagome lattice, through angle‐resolved photoemission spectroscopy and magneto‐thermoelectric measurements. These topological flat bands generate large Berry curvaturte, producing gigantic anomalous Nernst effect with record‐high ...

Uncertainty Estimation for the Brillouin Frequency Shift Measurement Using a Scanning Tandem Fabry–Pérot Interferometer

open access: yesMicromachines, 2023
The expanded uncertainty of the measured Brillouin scattering shift frequencies is essential in assessing the measurements of parameters of various materials. We describe the general operation principles of a Brillouin light scattering (BLS) spectrometer

Gapless Superconductivity From Extremely Dilute Magnetic Disorder in 2H‐NbSe2‐xSx

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that 2H‐NbSe2‐xSx hosts gapless superconductivity at unexpectedly low magnetic impurity concentrations. Combining STM, Bogoliubovde Gennes simulations, DFT, and quasiparticle interference, we comprehensively study the development of gapless behavior and show that SeS substitution reshapes the band structure, enhances nesting, and drives ...

n‐Type Polymer Radio Frequency Rectifiers Operating at 18.5 GHz

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Combining an n‐doped polymer semiconductor with wafer‐scale asymmetric planar electrodes featuring work function‐engineered contacts yields radio‐frequency diodes and rectifying circuits operating at up to 18.5 GHz. The devices combine scalable manufacturing with an operating frequency previously unattainable by large‐area organic electronics ...

Enhancement of Brillouin Scattering Signal in Perfluorinated Graded-Index Polymer Optical Fibers

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2012
Perfluorinated graded-index polymer optical fibers (PFGI-POFs), fabricated by replacing the hydrogen atoms of standard polymethyl methacrylate-based POFs with fluorine atoms, have been extensively studied due to their relatively low propagation loss even

Switchable Magnonic Crystals Based on Spin Crossover/CrSBr Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale modeling is employed to investigate the functionality of a light‐controlled, tunable magnonic crystal based on spin‐crossover Fe‐pz molecules integrated with a monolayer of CrSBr. Ab initio simulations confirm that the molecules remain functional on the CrSBr surface, while a semiclassical elastic model demonstrates that light‐induced ...

Brillouin light scattering of spin waves inaccessible with free-space light

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
Microfocus Brillouin light scattering is a powerful technique for the spectroscopic and spatial characterization of elementary excitations in materials. However, the small momentum of light limits the accessible excitations to the center of the Brillouin
