Pillared Laminar Vermiculite Membranes with Tunable Monovalent and Multivalent Ion Selectivity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 14, April 9, 2025.
Alumina pillared vermiculite membrane is fabricated with a laminar structure. Enhanced water stability is observed due to the strengthened interlamellar binding. Through cation doping, the surface charge and pore size of the pillared laminar membrane are tuned, demonstrating highly selective and tunable ion sieving performance promising for water ...

Mechanical and Light Activation of Materials for Chemical Production

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 16, April 23, 2025.
The actuation of stomata—referring to their opening and closing—is crucial for photosynthesis because it regulates gas exchange and water balance. Here, it is investigated if this life‐like property could enhance the photocatalytic properties of soft materials.
