Broadband multislot antenna

IRE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1959
A multislot antenna was built, of which the VSWR is smaller than two in the band of 100 to 1000 mc. The principle of this antenna is analogous to the one of pass band filters in which few modes of resonance are possible, appearing one after the other when frequency varies in the band.

Broadband fragmented cylindrical antennas

2015 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2015
A new type of fragmented cylindrical antenna geometry is introduced that can be applied to common monopole and dipole antennas. Metallic regions of a cylindrical conductor are selectively removed in order to generate alternate current paths that can allow for increased operating bandwidth.

Novel broadband antenna arrays

2012 Loughborough Antennas & Propagation Conference (LAPC), 2012
This paper considers the design of high performance dual polarized compact aperture array antennas. A recently developed Octagonal Ring Antenna array, forming a planar structure, demonstrates desirable characteristics in large scale applications and represents a novel technology for array antenna designs. The main electromagnetic performance parameters

Miniature broadband wire antenna

2008 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference, 2008
A novel antenna composed of three monopoles is investigated first in this paper. In the frequency range 775 - 1910 MHz, the return loss is lower than -10 dB. Meanwhile the radiation patterns are omnidirectional. On this basis, bending top, fractal, coplanar, and loaded structures are applied to realize the miniaturization.

Broadband quasi-microstrip antenna

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1995
A new printed microwave antenna is presented. The antenna is a hybrid between a wire antenna array and a microstrip patch antenna. Although the size, cost, and efficiency are comparable to the microstrip patch, the voltage standing wave ratio 2:1 bandwidth of the antenna presented here is above 20%.

Broadband VHF antenna

1982 Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2005
Investigations are reported of an electrically short, asymmetrically fed broadband antenna employing a base isolation choke, The base isolation choke minimizes excitation of the mounting platform and improves radiation patterns. The asymmetrical feed optimizes the antenna current distribution over the 30 to 90 MHz frequency range resulting in improved ...

Broadband Active Microstrip Antennas

21st European Microwave Conference, 1991, 1991
The concept of combining active devices with radiating elements for broadband active antenna design was proposed. An active microstrip transmit antenna was realized by using two sided structure and single-ended one-stage amplifier configuration. A 24 percent bandwidth, which is about 6 time that of the passive patch, was achieved both in terms of ...

Broadband microstrip array antenna

1980 Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 1980
A broadband (13%) microstrip array antenna with high efficiency, low cost and low weight has been designed and evaluated. The antenna is foam supported and is about 0.15 \lambda thick. The feeding is accomplished by a separate microstrip network. This antenna is compared with two dielectric loaded microstrip antennas, one with a separate stripline feed

Broadband printed monopole antennas

2004 10th International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics and URSI Conference, 2004
Microstrip patch antenna is generally the most popular antenna for portable devices. These antennas however are inherently narrow band. To obtain a wide bandwidth form a microstrip patch antenna the substrate thickness has to be increased and the dielectric constant of the substrate has to be kept as low as possible [1].

Broadband Dipole Antennas

2014
In this chapter we will study some simple dipole type configurations that can provide a broader bandwidth: the cylindrical dipole and biconical antenna. In addition, the chapter introduces the folded dipole antenna, which can provide better matching characteristics than that of the single dipole.
