A broadband omnidirectional antenna

Proceedings of IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium and URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2002
Anechoic chamber characterizations and signal verifications required a broadband omnidirectional antenna. A tapered slot antenna combined with a biconical antenna was modeled and a prototype was built. Measurement results are discussed and are consistent with the requirements. >

Broadband VHF antenna

1982 Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2005
Investigations are reported of an electrically short, asymmetrically fed broadband antenna employing a base isolation choke, The base isolation choke minimizes excitation of the mounting platform and improves radiation patterns. The asymmetrical feed optimizes the antenna current distribution over the 30 to 90 MHz frequency range resulting in improved ...

Directed antennas in the Mobile Broadband System

Proceedings of IEEE INFOCOM '96. Conference on Computer Communications, 2002
The article investigates the usage of adaptive directed antennas for the Mobile Broadband System (MBS). The advantages and problems are considered. Solutions for the problems are proposed and evaluated with respect to cost, feasibility and efficiency. The MBS is a wireless cellular network operating at 60 GHz.

Broadband Antenna Study

1975
Abstract : The subject material may be classified in three separate topics. These are: the analysis of dielectric slab-covered waveguide arrays on large cylinders (extended array coverage), scattering from dielectric-covered periodic screens of small rectangular apertures (broadband antenna/radome technology), and the analysis of a stripline fed notch ...

Broadband Dipole Antennas

2014
In this chapter we will study some simple dipole type configurations that can provide a broader bandwidth: the cylindrical dipole and biconical antenna. In addition, the chapter introduces the folded dipole antenna, which can provide better matching characteristics than that of the single dipole.

Broadband multislot antenna

IRE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1959
A multislot antenna was built, of which the VSWR is smaller than two in the band of 100 to 1000 mc. The principle of this antenna is analogous to the one of pass band filters in which few modes of resonance are possible, appearing one after the other when frequency varies in the band.

Broadband nested antenna

2012
This thesis investigates a novel dual frequency range low profile antenna system containing two nested spiral antennas operating over 2 – 18 GHz and 30 – 40 GHz respectively. The exploration and development of a broadband microstrip spiral without cavity backing has been implemented in the range of 2 - 18 GHz.

Broadband Antennas with Reactive Loads

2018 9th International Conference on Ultrawideband and Ultrashort Impulse Signals (UWBUSIS), 2018
The results of a study on the expansion of the frequency range of vibrational curved whip and loop antennas are presented. Optimal designs of these antennas with concentrated reactive loads included in the shoulders are proposed. The study was carried out for a design that appears promising for use as a microstrip antenna.

Broadband fragmented cylindrical antennas

2015 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2015
A new type of fragmented cylindrical antenna geometry is introduced that can be applied to common monopole and dipole antennas. Metallic regions of a cylindrical conductor are selectively removed in order to generate alternate current paths that can allow for increased operating bandwidth.

Novel broadband omnidirectional antennas

2012 Asia Pacific Microwave Conference Proceedings, 2012
Three types of novel broadband omnidirectional antennas are developed, including a circularly polarized antenna, a horizontally polarized antenna and a 45° linearly polarized antenna. All of these antennas have a bandwidth of about 30% with good omnidirectional radiation patterns.
