Bacitracin Methylene Disalicylate in Broiler Breeder Feeds

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1985
A 32-week experiment was carried out in floor pens with Cobb X Cobb breeder pullets that were 28 weeks old at initiation. Ten replicate pens, each containing 13 pullets and 2 males, received one of four dietary treatments. These treatments were either an unmedicated feed or 27.5, 55, or 110 mg/kg of bacitracin methylene disalicylate (BMD).

Capturing Grasslands in Nationally Determined Contributions and Integrated Assessment Models: Review and Perspective

open access: yesEarth's Future, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Grasslands support the majority of global livestock production systems while providing vital ecosystem services. Expansion of the livestock sector over recent decades has however placed enormous pressure on grasslands, with increasing greenhouse gas emissions that challenge the aspirations of climate mitigation.

Application of Peracetic Acid in Poultry Processing: Effects of Treatment Dynamics and Emerging Risk of Resistance Development in Salmonella spp.

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Nontyphoidal Salmonella is a leading cause of foodborne illness, with poultry representing a major source. Peracetic acid (PAA), a widely adopted antimicrobial in poultry processing, offers advantages over traditional disinfectants but has sparked interest in its combined use with other antimicrobials and potential resistance.

Purchase and production optimization in a meat processing plant

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, Volume 33, Issue 2, Page 1016-1051, March 2026.
Abstract This paper addresses an optimization problem concerning the purchase and subsequent material processing in a meat processing company. Unlike the majority of existing papers, we do not concentrate on how this problem concerns supply chain management, but we focus on the production stage, primarily the meat cutting.

Evaluation of Nutrient Specifications for Broiler Breeders

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1984
Two experiments were conducted to determine if previously suggested nutrient requirements of broiler breeders (23 g protein, 850 mg sulfur amino acids, 4.5 g calcium, and 750 mg phosphorus/bird/day) are in excess and could be reduced during the laying period.
