Seroprevalence of avian metapneumovirus infection in broiler and broiler breeder chickens in Iran

open access: yesVeterinární Medicína, 2011
Avian metapneumovirus causes an acute highly contagious upper respiratory tract infection primarily of turkeys and chickens. The disease can cause significant economic losses in turkey and chicken flocks, particularly when exacerbated by secondary ...

Sodium Requirement for Broiler Breeder Hens

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1995
Two experiments were conducted with Arbor Acres hens to determine their Na requirement. Sodium chloride was added to a corn-soybean meal diet to furnish daily intakes of 35, 65, 95, 125, and 150 mg per hen in Experiment 1. The 150 mg level was replaced with 180 mg in Experiment 2. The hens were maintained in floor pens with wood shavings used as litter.

DataSheet1_Metformin modulates the gut microbiome in broiler breeder hens.xlsx

open access: yes, 2022
Broiler breeder hens, the parent stock of commercial broiler chickens, are genetically selected for rapid growth. Due to a longer production period and the focus of genetic selection on superior carcass traits in their progeny, these hens have the ...

Evaluation of the effectiveness of phytogenic feed additive on hatchable egg production performance in Cobb 430 Y breeders under field conditions

open access: yesVeterinary Research Notes, 2021
Objective: The objective of poultry breeder management is the production of fertilized eggs. The purpose of this study was to see how phytogenic feed additive (PFA) affected hatchable egg production in Cobb 430 Y breeders and the economic ramifications.

Restricting Growth of Broiler Breeder Pullets

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1969
Abstract Restricting rate of gain and delaying sexual maturity of pullets are important considerations in producing a profitable broiler breeder flock. Most of the existing programs for rearing broiler pullets are based on some type of feed restriction, or the use of diets designed to limit nutrient intake starting around 8 to 10 weeks of age ...

Evaluation of a Product Intended for Microbiological Control in Animal Production, and Its Combination With Halquinol

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Activo Liquid and Halquinol inhibit Salmonella and Escherichia coli in culture media. Activo Liquid exhibits bactericidal action, whereas HA is bacteriostatic, and their combination results in positive or indifferent interactions. This combination effectively inhibits E. coli throughout digestion simulation, thus reducing the required concentrations of
