Beyond Cystic Fibrosis: Recognising Shwachman‐Diamond Syndrome in the Respiratory Clinic
Our case shows how SDS can mimic CF (borderline sweat electrolytes, recurrent lower respiratory infections, pancreatic insufficiency) but diverge in trajectory and management. Over 42 years, our patient demonstrated: (1) recurrent infections, (2) persistent pancreatic insufficiency and (3) intermittent neutropenia.

Abstract An 18‐year‐old, spayed, female, domestic shorthair cat was presented to our hospital with acute dyspnoea following an episode of vomiting. Thoracic radiography revealed a severe pneumothorax. Despite multiple thoracocenteses, the pneumothorax persisted. Under general anaesthesia, computed tomography revealed multiple pulmonary masses.

ABSTRACT Introduction Work‐related exposures contribute to one in six new‐onset adult asthma cases and exacerbation of one in five existing cases, which together are termed ‘work‐related asthma’ (WRA).
