BRONCHIAL ASTHMA WITH ADDISON'S DISEASE

The Lancet, 1971
Abstract Two patients presenting with previously untreated asthma were found, on investigation, to have Addison's disease, as evidenced by clinical picture, biochemical findings, and, in one case, necropsy. Neurogenic mechanisms in bronchial inflammatory diseases

Allergy, 2004
Neurogenic inflammation encompasses the release of neuropeptides from airway nerves leading to inflammatory effects. This neurogenic inflammatory response of the airways can be initiated by exogenous irritants such as cigarette smoke or gases and is characterized by a bi‐directional linkage between airway nerves and airway inflammation.

Bronchial Brush Biopsy in Hodgkin's Disease

Chest, 1974
Twenty-six bronchial brush biopsies were performed in 21 patients with Hodgkin's disease. In most, brush biopsy was performed to differentiate between tumor, infection or the effects of radiation. In 17 bronchial brushings where Hodgkin's disease was subsequently shown to involve the lung, diagnosis of tumor was made in only four brush biopsies. In the
