Bridging FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) and Clinical Practice: Comprehensive Characterization of Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors Toxicities in Geriatric Lung Cancer Patients

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 6, March 2026.
Elderly lung cancer patients face increased risks of severe and fatal AEs during ICIs treatment. Reports concerning males, Asians, and anti‐PD‐1 recipients were associated with higher odds of a fatal outcome. Immune‐mediated pneumonitis is the most frequently reported severe AE, calling for heightened vigilance for these high‐risk subgroups.

Field versus race pace conditions to provoke exercise-induced bronchoconstriction in elite swimmers: Influence of training background

open access: yesJournal of Exercise Science & Fitness, 2017
Background: Diagnosing Airway hyper-responsiveness (AHR) requires bronchial provocation tests that are performed at rest and after exercise or hyperventilation in either a lab or field setting. Presently, it is unclear whether the proposed AHR field test

Sex Differences in Lung Immunity

open access: yesImmunological Reviews, Volume 338, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Biological sex has a significant impact on how the immune system develops and responds to foreign and self‐antigens. Sex differences exist in innate and adaptive immune cells, both at homeostasis and in the context of infection and inflammatory diseases such as asthma, cancer, and autoimmune disorders.

The effects of e‐cigarette use on asthma severity in adult BALB/c mice

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 111, Issue 3, Page 1429-1440, 1 March 2026.
Abstract Electronic cigarettes (e‐cigarettes) are often perceived to be a less harmful alternative to tobacco cigarettes. Potentially due to this perception, they are used by people with pre‐existing respiratory conditions, such as asthma, who otherwise would not smoke. Despite this, there are few studies exploring the health effects of e‐cigarette use
