Off-shell divergences in quantum gravity

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We investigate off-shell perturbative renormalisation of pure quantum gravity for both background metric and quantum fluctuations. We show that at each new loop order, the divergences that do not vanish on-shell are constructed from only the total metric,

Classical BRST charges in reducible BRST-anti-BRST theories [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
We give a solution to the classical master equation of the Hamiltonian BRST-anti-BRST quantization scheme in the case of reducible gauge theories. Our approach does not require redefining constraints or reducibility functions. Classical BRST observables are also constructed.

BRST quantization of quasisymplectic manifolds and beyond [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2006
We consider a class of factorizable Poisson brackets which includes almost all reasonable Poisson structures. A particular case of the factorizable brackets are those associated with symplectic Lie algebroids. The BRST theory is applied to describe the geometry underlying these brackets as well as to develop a deformation quantization procedure in this

Gauge × gauge on spheres

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We introduce a convolution on a 2-sphere and use it to show that the linearised Becchi-Rouet-Stora-Tyutin transformations and gauge fixing conditions of Einstein-Hilbert gravity coupled to a two-form and a scalar field, follow from the product of two ...

A toy model for background independent string field theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We study gauge theories of background fields associated to BRST quantized spinning particle models and identify background-independent algebraic structures which allow to systematically reduce the spectrum of fields and subject some of them to dynamical ...

Renormalization of non-locally regularized BRST-anti-BRST theories [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2000
An extension of the non-local regularization scheme is formulated in the Sp(2) symmetric Lagrangian BRST quantization framework. It generates a systematic treatment of the anomalous quantum master equations and allows to substract the divergences as well as to calculate genuine higher loop BRST and anti-BRST anomalies.

KPZ Analysis for $W_3$ Gravity

open access: yes, 1992
Starting from the covariant action for $W_3$ gravity, we discuss the BRST quantization of $W_3$ gravity. Taking the chiral gauge the BRST charge has a natural interpretation in terms of the quantum Drinfeld--Sokolov reduction for $Sl(3,\re)$.

Functional Schroedinger and BRST Quantization of (1+1)--Dimensional Gravity

open access: yes, 1996
We discuss the quantization of pure string--inspired dilaton--gravity in $(1+1)$--dimensions, and of the same theory coupled to scalar matter. We perform the quantization using the functional Schroedinger and BRST formalisms.

Finite BRST–antiBRST transformations in Lagrangian formalism

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2014
We continue the study of finite BRST–antiBRST transformations for general gauge theories in Lagrangian formalism initiated in [1], with a doublet λa, a=1,2, of anticommuting Grassmann parameters, and find an explicit Jacobian corresponding to this change
