Proteome analysis of bronchoalveolar lavage from calves infected with bovine respiratory syncytial virus-Insights in pathogenesis and perspectives for new treatments.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Human and bovine respiratory syncytial viruses (HRSV/BRSV) are major causes of severe lower respiratory tract infections in children and calves, respectively.

Immunological response of locally prepared oil adjuvanted pneumo-5 vaccine in calves [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Medical Research, 2017
The present study aimed to prepare a combined inactivated vaccine containingbovine viral diarrhea genotype-1(BVD-1),bovine viral diarrhea genotype-2 (BVD-2),infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR),parainfluenza-3 (PI-3) and bovinerespiratory syncytial ...

Backward bifurcation, equilibrium and stability phenomena in a three-stage extended BRSV epidemic model [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Biology, 2008
In this paper we consider the phenomenon of backward bifurcation in epidemic modelling illustrated by an extended model for Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus (BRSV) amongst cattle. In its simplest form, backward bifurcation in epidemic models usually implies the existence of two subcritical endemic equilibria for R(0) < 1, where R(0) is the basic ...

Identification and characterisation of Zucchini yellow fleck virus and a novel Nepovirus from next‐generation sequencing of mixed virus infections in cucumbers (Cucumis sativus) from Crete

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, Volume 186, Issue 3, Page 248-261, May 2025.
High‐throughput sequencing from cucumber leaf samples collected in Crete, Greece, revealed mixed infections including a cucumber‐infecting isolate of Zucchini yellow fleck virus and a novel nepovirus, provisionally named cucumber nepovirus A (CuNVA).

Association of Lung Consolidation Depth With Pathogens Isolated From Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluid in Calves With Clinical Signs of Respiratory Disease

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Volume 39, Issue 3, May/June 2025.
ABSTRACT Background The depth of lung consolidation (≥ 1 and ≥ 3 cm) on thoracic ultrasonography (TUS) is increasingly used as a criterion for antimicrobial treatment. However, its association with bacterial infections remains unclear. Objectives To investigate the associations of clinical and ultrasonographic findings, particularly consolidation depth,

BRSV-specific lymphocyte proliferative response in vaccinated calves.

open access: yes, 2014
Four groups of 5 calves were vaccinated as described in Fig. 1 and challenged with BRSV, 5 weeks after vaccination, on post-infection day (PID) 0. Two weeks before challenge, one calf (c5) was euthanized due to traumatic injury.

Vaccine safety and efficacy evaluation of a recombinant bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) with deletion of the SH gene and subunit vaccines based on recombinant human RSV proteins: N-nanorings, P and M2-1, in calves with maternal antibodies.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
The development of safe and effective vaccines against both bovine and human respiratory syncytial viruses (BRSV, HRSV) to be used in the presence of RSV-specific maternally-derived antibodies (MDA) remains a high priority in human and veterinary ...

Causes of the Abnormally Strong Easterly Phase of the Mesopause Semiannual Oscillation During the March Equinox of 2023 Revealed by a New Reanalysis Data Covering the Entire Middle Atmosphere

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 7, 16 April 2025.
Abstract During the March equinox of 2023, a strong easterly wind of ∼80 m s−1 appeared at an altitude of ∼82 km in the equatorial upper mesosphere, which is regarded as an enhancement of the mesopause semi‐annual oscillation. In this study, a new reanalysis data available up to 110 km was used to investigate its momentum budget.
