Discrimination between sheep antibodies to Brucella melitensis and to Brucella ovis
Veterinary Microbiology, 1989When preparations containing smooth Brucella abortus lipopolysaccharide (LPS) were used as antigen in an ELISA, strong positive reactions were obtained with sera from sheep infected with Brucella melitensis or with Brucella ovis. Oxidation of the LPS with sodium metaperiodate greatly reduced the extent of the cross-reactions with antisera to B.

Observations onBrucella ovisCFT results
New Zealand Veterinary Journal, 1978Abstract Three commercial flocks, deriving replacement rams from 15 parent studs, had respectively 33 of 71,13 of 31 and 8 of 82 rams positive to the Br. ovis CF test. In the first flock, clinical findings supported a diagnosis of active Brucella infection. In the other two flocks, positive results were attributed to vaccinational titres persisting for

Brucella ovis infection in two flocks of sheep
Veterinary Record, 1994Brucella ovis infection could not be eradicated from two flocks of sheep despite serologically testing and culling the infected rams for four years. The hypothesis that the ewes played a major role in the maintenance of the infection in both flocks was investigated by using serological, bacteriological and pathological criteria.

Immunization with Brucella melitensis Rev 1 against Brucella ovis infection of rams
Veterinary Microbiology, 1987The efficacy of Brucella Melitensis Rev 1 vaccine (Rev 1) for the prophylaxis of Brucella ovis ram epididymitis was evaluated. Twenty-nine 3-month-old rams were vaccinated with 2 X 10(9) Rev 1 and 14 were revaccinated with 5 X 10(8) at 14 months of age. Six rams remained unvaccinated as a control group. All rams were challenged with 5 X 10(8) B.

Cholinesterase's activities of infected mice by Brucella ovis
Microbial Pathogenesis, 2019The role of cholinesterase in inflammatory reactions has been described in several infectious diseases. However, in Brucella spp. this has not yet been studied. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate whether experimental infection by Brucella ovis alters the cholinergic activity in pro- or anti-inflammatory responses to the disease. For

Experimental Brucella ovis infection in pregnant ewes
Veterinary Record, 1999Forty yearling Brucella‐free ewes were inoculated with Brucella ovis by the conjunctival route in mid or late first pregnancy. Only a few ewes excreted B ovis during pregnancy and gave birth to stillborn lambs ...

The Complement Fixation Test Forbrucella Ovis
New Zealand Veterinary Journal, 1981Abstract Sir:- A project to investigate the efficacy of the complement fixation test (CFT) for the diagnosis of Brucella ovis infection in rams has recently been completed. The investigation was undertaken by field and laboratory staff of the Division of Animal Health and several practitioners. The results of CFT's done with 3 antigens by waim and cold

Efficacy of Brucella suis strain 2 vaccine against Brucella ovis in rams
Vaccine, 1993The protective efficacy against Brucella ovis of live vaccine Brucella suis strain 2 (S2) and Brucella melitensis strain Rev 1 has been evaluated in rams. Fourteen 4-month-old Brucella-free Aragonesa rams were vaccinated conjunctivally with 2 x 10(9) c.f.u. S2.
