Immunization with Brucella melitensis Rev 1 against Brucella ovis infection of rams
Veterinary Microbiology, 1987The efficacy of Brucella Melitensis Rev 1 vaccine (Rev 1) for the prophylaxis of Brucella ovis ram epididymitis was evaluated. Twenty-nine 3-month-old rams were vaccinated with 2 X 10(9) Rev 1 and 14 were revaccinated with 5 X 10(8) at 14 months of age. Six rams remained unvaccinated as a control group. All rams were challenged with 5 X 10(8) B.

Cholinesterase's activities of infected mice by Brucella ovis
Microbial Pathogenesis, 2019The role of cholinesterase in inflammatory reactions has been described in several infectious diseases. However, in Brucella spp. this has not yet been studied. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate whether experimental infection by Brucella ovis alters the cholinergic activity in pro- or anti-inflammatory responses to the disease. For

SEROLOGICAL COMPARISON BETWEEN HISTOPHILUS OVIS, ACTINOBACILLUS SEMINIS AND BRUCELLA OVIS
Australian Veterinary Journal, 1978SUMMARY: The serological relationships between 4 strains of Histophilus ovis, the neotype strain of Actinobacillus seminis and Brucella ovis were examined using a cross‐absorption complement‐fixation technique. It was found that the 4 strains of H. ovis were serologically homologous and that an incomplete relationship existed between these organisms and

Use of phage for the identification of Brucella canis and Brucella ovis cultures
Research in Veterinary Science, 1985The brucella phage strains R, R/O and R/C standardised at routine test dilution on their propagating strains were effective in identifying cultures of Brucella ovis and B canis and in differentiating these from other non-smooth brucella isolates.

Brucella ovisvaccination of rams
New Zealand Veterinary Journal, 1963Abstract Extract An infectious epididymitis of rams caused by Brucella ovis (Buddie, 1956) infection, first described in Australia (Simmons and Boyes, 1953) and New Zealand (Buddie and Boyes, 1953) was recognized subsequently in Czechoslovakia (Gdovin et al, 1955), the United States (McGowan and Shultz, 1956), South Africa (Van Rensburg et al, 1958 ...
