Nanoscale chemical and structural investigation of Mg-doped GaN nanowires using EDS and WDS on SEM [PDF]
Semiconductors are the basis of many of today's technical products and therefore an important foundation of our modern economy. One material that is currently the subject of intensive research is doped gallium nitride (GaN), which has outstanding ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

We report results of rheological experiments on suspensions of nanopowders. In this work we have used two ceramic nanopowders such as magnesium-aluminum spinel (S30CR Baikowski – MgAl2O4) and yttrium oxide (Y2O3) suspended in ethyl alcohol.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
