BSE and the Dynamics of Beef Consumption: Influences of Habit and Trust [PDF]
This study relates habit persistence and trust to recurring food safety incidents in the context of a series of three BSE incidents in Canada. We examined the dynamics of monthly beef expenditure shares of a sample of Canadian households for monthly time

Scaling in the Bombay Stock Exchange Index
In this paper we study BSE Index financial time series for fractal and multifractal behaviour. We show that Bombay stock Exchange (BSE)Index time series is mono-fractal and can be represented by a fractional Brownian motion.Comment: 11 pages,3 ...

A novel strategy is developed by doping reduced graphene oxide (rGO) into a (HfZrTi)C medium‐entropy ceramic. This induces a hierarchical strain modification mechanism, synergistically inhibiting crack propagation at the microscale and dissipating stress at the mesoscale.

Semiconducting THO‐C3N Monolayers for Ultrahigh Anisotropic Carrier Mobility
A precise site‐specific N‐doping strategy that drives a secondary electronic transition in net W is proposed, enabling the electronic properties transition from metal to Dirac semimetal and ultimately to semiconductor. The obtained THO‐C3N‐2 and THO‐C3N‐3 semiconductors exhibit high carrier mobilities and pronounced mobility anisotropy, with THO‐C3N‐2 ...

Bovine spongiform encephalopathy: A review of current knowledge and challenges
Bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), also referred to as mad cow disease, is a chronic degenerative disease that affects the central nervous systems. BSE is caused by a misfolded isoform of the prion protein (PrP), a widely expressed glycoprotein. The

Bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) and BSE-related disorders have been associated with a single major prion strain. Recently, 2 atypical, presumably sporadic forms of BSE have been associated with 2 distinct prion strains that are characterized ...

Mechanism of Solid Solution‐Driven Texture Induced by Ag Doping in YBCO Superconductor
Ag‐doped YBCO with a designed concentration gradient is produced by dual‐material co‐extrusion and freeze‐drying. During annealing, Ag+ ions diffuse into Y123, substituting for Cu(1) and inducing c‐axis relaxation. This leads to the formation of [001]‐oriented YBCAO, creating a coherent interface that templates the textured growth of Y123. Consequently,

Individual factors associated with L- and H-type Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy in France
Background Cattle with L-type (L-BSE) and H-type (H-BSE) atypical Bovine Spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) were identified in 2003 in Italy and France respectively before being identified in other countries worldwide.
