A bristle‐nosed Jurassic ray‐finned fish (Actinopterygii) bears true dermal odontodes on its snout

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
Teeth show extreme diversity, including tooth‐like dermal odontodes or “skin teeth” in many extant fishes. We describe the anatomy of enlarged tubercles on the snout of Redfieldius, an extinct early Jurassic fish. We found that the tubercles in Redfieldius are dermal odontodes that evolved independently from those of living species. Abstract Comparison

California's vernal‐pool mousetails (Myosurus, Ranunculaceae): Phylogenetic analysis of ddRADseq data, hybridization tests, and species delimitation

open access: yesJournal of Systematics and Evolution, EarlyView.
We present the first phylogenetic analysis of the Californian species of Myosurus. Our ddRADseq analysis reveals considerably more diversity than what was recognized in recent floristic treatments. Myosurus minimus subsp. apus was found to be a rare species restricted to Southern California and northwestern Baja California.

Proposal, Analysis and Experimental Verification of Nonisolated DC-DC Converters Conceived from an Active Switched-Capacitor Commutation Cell

open access: yesEletrônica de Potência, 2019
This paper introduces a new family of nonisolated dc-dc converters that are generated by the integration of the active switched-capacitor (ASCC) and the conventional commutation cell (CCC). Based on the commutation cell concept, the new conceived hybrid

Time-sharing power supply full-bridge buck mode dual-input DC-DC converter

open access: yesDianzi Jishu Yingyong, 2020
In the distributed generation system with multiple new energy joint supply, using a multi-input DC-DC converter instead of multiple single input DC-DC converters can simplify the circuit structure and reduce the cost.

A Modified Non-Isolated Buck Converter Using Zsource Topology

open access: yes2026 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Quantum Photonics, Artificial Intelligence & Networking (QPAIN)
The Z-Source Buck topology is used in this study to investigate the methods used to configure a DC-DC converter. In the modern power industry, efficient energy conversion is critical due to the challenges of ineffective power transformation. Compared to conventional Z-Source and Buck converters, the proposed design achieves higher efficiency and output

Research on a High-Efficiency LED Driving Circuit Based on Buck Topology

open access: yesCircuits and Systems, 2011
A high efficiency LED(Light Emitting Diode) driver based on Buck converter, which could operate under a wide AC input voltage range(85V~265V) and drive a series of high power LEDs, is presented in this paper. The operation principles, power loss factors of the LED driver in this study are analyzed and discussed in detail and some effective ways to ...

The Greenland–Scotland Ridge in a Changing Ocean: Time to Act?

open access: yesMarine Ecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Greenland–Scotland Ridge is a submarine mountain that rises up to 500 m below the sea surface and extends from the east coast of Greenland to the continental shelf of Iceland and across the Faroe Islands to Scotland. The ridge not only separates deeper ocean basins on either side, that is, the North Atlantic and Arctic oceans, but also ...

Robust Mean–Variance Portfolio Optimization: Mean–Variance–Variance Criterion Versus Mean–Variance–Standard Deviation Criterion

open access: yesMathematical Finance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We study a dynamic portfolio optimization problem under the mean–variance–variance (M‐V‐V) criterion proposed by Maccheroni et al. It is an analogue of the Arrow–Pratt approximation to the well‐known smooth ambiguity model. Under the standard Black–Scholes framework, we derive fully explicit equilibrium investment strategies in which a DM's ...
