CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

On the Study for Taiwan\ue2s Counter-Cyclical Capital Buffer-using Credit-to-GNP gap coupled with Comprehensive Index

open access: yes, 2014
Recalling the recently financial crisis, from the Asian financial crisis to the Eurozone crisis, the crises cause the huge volatility in global financial markets, and force many banks to be taken over or even closed down. They also make a great impact on

Enhancement of Transverse Magneto-Optic Kerr effect in subwavelength all-dielectric guided mode gratings with a buffer layer

open access: yesResults in Physics
We demonstrate a simple subwavelength all-dielectric photonic device with greatly enhanced transverse magneto-optical Kerr effect (TMOKE) in the transmission mode.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

An efficient buffer scheme for flash-based databases

open access: yes, 2011
Most embedded database systems are built on a two-level memory hierarchy, a RAM buffer on top of flash memory. Both kinds of memories have limited capacity, thus, how to efficiently utilize them is critical for embedded systems with resource restrictions.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Applicability of Basel III Countercyclical Capital Buffer Guidance to Emerging Market Economies: An Exploration

open access: yes, 2015
Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) has published its guidance for operating the countercyclical capital buffer. It has, inter alia, recommended that credit-to-GDP ratio could be the buffer guide. This paper argues that BCBS buffer guide is not

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

OPTIMIZATION OF BINDING BUFFER ION FOR COMBINATORIAL SELECTION OF SSDNA APTAMERS FOR FLAVONOIDS

open access: yes
Aptamers are synthetic, single stranded oligonucleotides that bind with high affinity and specificity to molecular targets. Binding buffer, is an influential component in the combinatorial selection of an aptamer for effective interaction between ...
