Data on four criteria for targeting the placement of conservation buffers in agricultural landscapes
Four criteria are generally used to prioritize agricultural lands for placing conservation buffers. The criteria include soil erodibility, hydrological sensitivity, wildlife habitat, and impervious surface rate that capture conservation buffers’ benefits

Buffers of Milk and Buffer Value
Since buffers are considered as substances which, by their presence in solution, increase the amount of alkali or acid that must be added to catme unit change in pH, the question of their occurrence in milk would be important. Clark (1) gives the following with regard to buffers: "By buffer action, we mean the ability of a solution to resist change in ...

Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Effect of Riparian Buffers on Soil Redox Potentials
Excess pollution in Eastern North Carolina has led to unprecedented regulations to reduce the nitrogen loading to the Neuse River by thirty-percent by the year 2003. The primary culprit of excess nutrients is nonpoint sources.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
