On the lateral excitation of shear modes in AlN layered resonators [PDF]
In this paper we describe the fabrication and frequency characterization of different structures intended for the lateral excitation of shear modes in AlN c-axis-oriented films, which are at the same time designed to minimize the excitation of ...

Mass Production of Uniform Embryoid Bodies by Acoustic Standing Waves
This innovative method for the generation of human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)‐derived embryoid bodies provides a scalable, flexible and cell‐friendly approach for the mass production of highly uniform cell clusters. It maintains the high cell viability and pluripotent state of hiPSCs while allowing successful differentiation into ...

Characterization of energy trapping in a bulk acoustic wave resonator [PDF]
Acoustic wave fields both within the active electrode area of a solidly mounted 1.8 GHz bulk acoustic waveresonator, and around it in the surrounding region, are measured using a heterodyne laser interferometer.

The study compares high overtone bulk acoustic wave resonators (HBAR) using fiber‐textured and epitaxial Al0.7Sc0.3N/Mo/AlN stacks on Si(111). HBAR fabricated using an epitaxial stack show superior performance, with 25% higher figure of merit due to improved crystal quality and piezoelectric response.
