Performance analysis of a finite-buffer discrete-time queue with bulk arrival, bulk service and vacations

Computers and Operations Research, 2005
For a finite-buffer bulk arrival and bulk service \(\text{Geo}^X / G^Y /1/ K+B\) queue with multiple vacations, the authors obtain steady state probabilities, moments of the system size, loss probability and mean delay at departure, random and arrival epochs. These measures are shown to be numerically stable.

A Variable Bulk Arrival and Static Bulk Service Queueing Model for Blockchain

Proceedings of the 2nd ACM International Symposium on Blockchain and Secure Critical Infrastructure, 2020
This paper proposes a novel embedded Markovian queueing model of the M(1,n)/Mn/1 type in order to establish a theoretical foundation to design a blockchain-based system with specific interest in Ethereum. The model assumes variable bulk arrivals of transactions in Poisson distribution, i.e., M(1,n), where n the number of slots across all the mined ...

Infinite-Server Bulk Queue with MMPP Arrivals

2020
We consider a queueing system with batch MMPP arrivals and an unlimited number of servers. An arriving group of customers occupies necessary number of free servers for a random time determined by a given probability distribution function. At the end of the service, the whole group releases all the servers at the same time.

Computing the Distribution for the Number of Renewals with Bulk Arrivals

INFORMS Journal on Computing, 2014
The distribution of the number of renewals for bulk arrivals in continuous time is calculated using an algorithm employed through MAPLE software. These numerical results are acquired by considering rational as well as nonrational Laplace transforms and Padé-approximated Laplace transforms for the distributions of interrenewal times.
