Entanglement Entropy in Integrable Field Theories with Line Defects II. Non-topological Defect
This is the second part of two papers where we study the effect of integrable line defects on bipartite entanglement entropy in integrable field theories. In this paper, we consider non-topological line defects in Ising field theory.

Perturbative bootstrap of the Wilson-line defect CFT: Bulk-defect-defect correlators
Abstract We study the correlators of bulk and defect half-BPS operators in $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 4 Super Yang-Mills theory with a Maldacena-Wilson line defect, focusing on the case involving one bulk and two defect local ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Dynamic defects in photonic Floquet topological insulators
Edge modes in topological insulators are known to be robust against defects. We investigate if this also holds true when the defect is not static, but varies in time. We study the influence of defects with time-dependent coupling on the robustness of the

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Bulk flows in Virasoro minimal models with boundaries
The behaviour of boundary conditions under relevant bulk perturbations is studied for the Virasoro minimal models. In particular, we consider the bulk deformation by the least relevant bulk field which interpolates between the mth and (m-1)st unitary ...

Living Inside a Hedgehog: Higher-dimensional Solutions that Localize Gravity [PDF]
We consider spherically symmetric higher-dimensional solutions of Einstein's equations with a bulk cosmological constant and n transverse dimensions. In contrast to the case of one or two extra dimensions we find no solutions that localize gravity when ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Defect chemistry of bulk and nanoscale PuO2
The management of large stockpiles of Pu, separated from spent nuclear fuel or nuclear weapons programmes and stored as the oxide PuO2, requires an understanding of the material’s aging behaviour during interim storage. This includes characterising the effect of radiogenic impurities that accumulate at significant concentration over storage time ...
