A context‐dependent modulatory role for eIF6 in acquired resistance to vemurafenib in melanoma
Acquired resistance to vemurafenib upregulates the translation factor eIF6 in melanoma cells. Silencing eIF6 in resistant cells reduces proliferation and partially restores drug sensitivity, whereas its overexpression increases sensitivity across melanoma lines regardless of BRAF status, via modulation of mTOR, S6K, and MAPK signaling.

Towards the CdS/SnSe solar cell optimization: Understanding the transport mechanisms
In this work, numerical simulation results on SnSe solar cells are presented. The influence of loss mechanisms such as radiative recombination, SnSe bulk recombination, and CdS/SnSe interface recombination on the device is studied in detail under and ...

The ubiquitin system in normal and infected germinal center B cells
The ubiquitin system plays a central role in germinal center (GC) B cells, influencing differentiation to long‐lived memory B cells. Oncogenic gammaherpesviruses gain access to memory B cells by establishing latency in GC B cells. Mapping ubiquitin mechanisms in normal and infected GC B cells will define specific molecular circuits in B cells germane ...

Implicit integration scheme for porous viscoplastic potential-based constitutive equations [PDF]
This paper deals with a viscoplastic potential-based model allowing thermomechanical damage behavior modeling of porous materials. The model describes rate dependent effects, hardening, creep as well as defects coalescence and propagation.

How to get an interacting conformal line defect for free theories
We argue that interacting conformal line defects in free quantum field theories can exist, provided that inversion symmetry is broken. Important for our demonstration is the existence of a special cross ratio for bulk-defect-defect three point functions ...

Metastatic niche shaped by host factors influences disseminated cancer cell fate
Metastasis is shaped not only by cancer cells but also by the environments they encounter. This review explores how factors such as aging, diet, the microbiome, lifestyle, and environmental exposures remodel organ‐specific niches in the lung, liver, bone, and brain, influencing where metastatic cells survive, remain dormant, or grow, and ultimately ...

Membrane composition and thermodynamic identity as boundaries of life for synthetic cell research
What makes a cell a cell? The boundary of a living cell is not just a wall. Read as a Markov blanket, the membrane separates internal from external states, generating identity and non‐equilibrium order. Can this identity be rebuilt from scratch in a synthetic cell?
