Community Dynamics and Antibiotic Resistance Gene Profile of Gut Microbiota in Labeo rohita Sourced From Various Catches in Retail Fish Markets in Kolkata, India

open access: yesJournal of Food Safety, Volume 46, Issue 1, February 2026.
The study compared gut microbiota and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in retail Labeo rohita from local and out‐of‐state sources using molecular and NGS methods. Proteobacteria dominated both groups, with Aeromonas prevalent. Region‐specific ARGs indicate environmental influences.

Functional characterization of NRT1/PTR FAMILY transporters: looking for a needle in a haystack

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 3, Page 1124-1144, February 2026.
Summary NRT1/PTR FAMILY (NPF) transporters play crucial roles in plant physiology and development due to their involvement in nitrogen nutrition and their ability to transport multiple signaling molecules and metabolites. Whereas most eukaryotic and prokaryotic NPF orthologs are peptide transporters, most flowering plant NPF transport other substrates ...

Variation in responses to temperature in admixed Populus genotypes predicts geographic shifts in regions where hybrids are favored

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 3, Page 1509-1526, February 2026.
Summary Plastic responses of plants to their environment vary as a result of genetic differentiation within and among species. To accurately predict rangewide responses to climate change, it is necessary to characterize genotype‐specific reaction norms across the continuum of historic and future climate conditions comprising a species' range. The North

Integrating Transcriptomics and Gut Microbiota Analysis Reveals the Anti‐Osteoporotic Mechanisms of Wine and Oil Co‐Processed Epimedium

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 2, 31 January 2026.
Firstly, we determined the content of the components in the co‐products of Epimedium wine and oil. Secondly, the clinical indications of the co‐products of Epimedium wine and oil were determined by in vitro cell experiments. Finally, the in vivo animal model was used for experimental verification.
